Overview

OneCLI connects AI agents to Trello. Agents can read boards, lists, and cards, and create or update cards and lists. The gateway injects the token into every request, so your agent never sees it. On OneCLI Cloud, connecting takes one click. Self-hosted, you first add your own Trello Power-Up key (see the bottom of this page).

Connect Trello

1

Click Connect

In the OneCLI dashboard, open Connections > Trello and click Connect Trello.

Sign in to Trello and click Allow. You’re done.

What agents can do

Controlling access

Grant the connection to each agent that needs it, and choose per tool what runs freely, what needs approval, and what’s blocked. Put Delete card behind approval. Organization rules add guardrails on top. A blocked request never reaches Trello. To disconnect, remove the connection in Connections > Trello, then revoke OneCLI in Trello under Settings > Applications.

Self-hosted: use your own Trello key

Skip this section on OneCLI Cloud. Self-hosted OneCLI needs either TRELLO_API_KEY and TRELLO_API_SECRET on the server, or your own key added below.

1. Create a Power-Up

Open trello.com/power-ups/admin, create a new Power-Up named OneCLI, then open API key and generate a key.
In OneCLI, open Connections > Trello > Custom credentials and copy the Redirect URI. Add its origin to the Power-Up’s Allowed origins.
OneCLI Custom credentials card for Trello with the setup guide link, the Redirect URI and its copy button, and the API key and secret fields.

Copy the Redirect URI from Custom credentials in OneCLI.

Copy the API Key and Secret into Custom credentials, turn it on, then click Connect Trello.
